How do I apply?
Option1: Complete online application and submit electronically.

Option 2: Printer friendly version is available. Fill out application and drop off at our leasing office.

How long will it take to process my application?
Typically the approval process takes 5 business days. However, times may vary depending on what state the applicant resides.

What background information is verified thru the application process?
We will perform a credit and background check on the applicant. Also, a credit check will be performed on the guarantor. (*Please note: you will be required to provide your guarantor’s SSN for the application.)

How are the units rented?
Each resident will have their own lease per bedroom.

Do I need to have roommates picked in advance to apply?
We prefer that you pick your roommates. If you do not have roommates, we will work towards matching you with a compatible roommate. If we select your roommate(s), we will place residents of the same gender together.

How many people are permitted to live in one bedroom? 
One person per bedroom.

How many people may reside within the apartment?
If unrelated, no more than three residents in an apartment unit.

Are the apartments co-ed?
The units may be occupied co-ed if you select your own roommates. Should you apply individually we will place you with residents of the same sex.

May I have a guest stay in my unit?
Yes. You are permitted to have guest stay overnight. See your lease and community guidelines for the guest policies. All guests will be required to register at the leasing office.

What is the utility allowance?
Your apartment includes utilities and pricing is based upon the typical anticipated annual cost. Your unit is metered and we will monitor average consumption costs. If your utility consumption exceeds  the average cost, you will be charged for the excess consumption on a quarterly basis.

What does my rent include?
Our pricing includes a fully furnished apartment, basic cable TV, internet service, and all utilities. Additionally, your rent includes use of the clubhouse and/or common amenities.

What type of furniture is included?
The living room includes a sofa, lounge chair, end table, coffee table, lamp, wall art, flat screen TV and three kitchen counter stools. The bedroom includes a full size bed with high frame and mattress, a four drawer dresser, and a desk and chair. Each room has a ceiling fan and overhead lighting. See website for digital rendition of typical unit furnishings. Some units may vary with color and texture.

Is a washer/dryer included?
Yes, each unit includes a stackable washer and dryer in the kitchen. There is no additional cost for the use of the washer/dryer.

Are there Resident Advisors?
We will employ community assistants that will work with the management team to make sure all your needs are met while living at Apex.

Will I have a private bathroom?
Yes, each bedroom has its own bathroom.

What kitchen appliances are included?
Each kitchen has a 17 cubic foot refrigerator with top freezer, 30” electric range with oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a washer/dryer unit. You will need to supply your own small appliances such as toaster, coffee maker, and dishware.

What amenities are included in the clubhouse?
The clubhouse will include a fireside lounge, large screen TV with ample seating, pool table, foosball table, fitness center, tanning beds, an outdoor patio with benches and tables, gas grill, 6-8 person hot tub, and quiet study area. Additional outdoor recreation will include a horseshoe pit and sand volleyball court. The clubhouse will also be utilized as our onsite management and maintenance facilities. There will be regularly schedules events planned in your clubhouse.

Is alcohol permitted in my unit? 
Assuming you are of the legal age, you may consume alcohol in your apartment. No alcohol is permitted in the clubhouse and outdoor areas and we ask you to respect these community guidelines.

When do I move in?
You will be assigned a move in date. Typically dates vary from August 1st to August 15th.

Do I have to leave my unit during any school recesses?
No. Units are open for your use during your entire lease period.

Are multi-year lease options available?
Yes, you may execute a 24 month lease and it will have a reduced escalation price. In most cases this will save you money and is a good idea because these units are in high demand. It will also assure you a space for the following year.

Is there a fee for parking?
No, two spaces per apartment are included.  Additional spaces are available for residents and guests.

Will there be shuttle access to campus?
Yes.

May I paint and decorate the living room/ kitchen area?
No. These are already painted and decorated. It must remain untouched.

Do I need to bring my own bedding or window treatments?
Yes, we provide a bed frame and mattress. You will need to bring a mattress pad, sheets, blankets, comforters, pillows and bed spread. The bed is a standard full size mattress. Every unit will include mini blinds on each window and your may add window treatments if you desire but the blinds must stay in place.

May I sublet my bedroom?
You are not permitted to sublet your bedroom. Should you have an extenuating circumstance you may stop by our leasing office and discuss the situation with our leasing consultants.

Am I required to carry renter’s insurance?
It is not required but highly recommended. Should your personal belongings be damaged in an event such as water/fire damage, you will not be reimbursed for any losses incurred.

Is Apex affiliated with Kutztown University?
No, the property is privately owned and managed and is not part of the University or the KU foundation.

Can grants, scholarships, student loans, or financial aid be applied towards rent?
Yes. You may use financial aid proceeds to pay for off campus housing or any other third party payments. Typically financial aid proceeds are dispersed directly to the student who in turn can then use those proceeds to pay for housing.
